Rare nomadic saddle in very good condition for its age. 1860-70 approx. The ancient artifact is attributable to the wandering Luri - Bahtiyari tribes. The large saddle contains a clear composition of animal heads. The secondary borders consist of recurring modified S-shaped meanders, and this design is very ancient compared to numerous motifs found in the borders made by other tribes of Iran, including those of the Khamseh League and the Baluchi tribes. On the market, such artifacts are offered under the generic name of Qashqai, but more precisely, the Qashqai warps are slightly thinner. In any case, the two tribal groups integrated in the past. As mentioned, considering the age and nature, the artifact is in excellent condition. It still retains the original fleece and laces. It has never undergone restoration. There are two circumscribed small holes in the weft that are easily repairable (see detailed photo). The kilim-striped ends and borders are interesting and archaic. It measures cm. 262 x 69.
