Landscape Painting with Building and Figures

Oil on canvas. Genoese school of the 18th century. The country landscape features a dilapidated structure in the center, the ruins of a building through whose torn walls the masses of white clouds in the background can be seen passing; in front of it flows a small stream, in which a woman is washing clothes, while her companion sits on a rock not far away, in line with the female figure and almost symmetrical with it. The scene is characterized by a particular luminist research, by a dynamism of forms (one can note the directional continuity of the foliage of the tree with the roof of the ruin and the clouds) and by the theatricality of the figures, all elements that have defined the pictorial production of the Genoese Baroque. Restored and relined, the painting is presented in a period frame. Product Condition: Product in good condition, has slight signs of wear.
