This exquisite Venetian view is an autograph work by the Ferrarese painter Giuseppe Coen, a talented and sought-after view painter who rarely appears on the antiquarian market.
The canvas excellently depicts a wide panoramic view of the Grand Canal crossed by the superb silhouette of the Rialto Bridge. On either side of the bridge, on the two banks of the canal, the famous palaces of the City face each other in line, described meticulously and with extreme skill in all architectural details, some in full light and others in shadow.
The luminescent green tone of the canal waters is remarkable in contrast to the splendid blue sky.
The great pictorial skills of the Author are evident both in the depiction of the buildings and in the rendering of the figures on the typical boats.
It is a splendid 19th-century canvas that, in addition to standing out for the evident beauty of the subject, which is masterfully executed, stands out for its rarity and is proposed not only as an excellent piece of furniture but also as a valid investment.
In fact, Coen's works achieve excellent auction results and are particularly appreciated by collectors of 19th-century painting.
The painting is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity in accordance with the law.
