Refined and rare Viennese classicism - empire style game table. Vienna 1790 -1810 approx. Veneered in mirrored cherry feather, with bronze applications/ornamental motifs typical of the period. The table opens like a book, rotating on itself and showing the game surface in refined leather (the latter just replaced). The piece is in virtually intact condition with a shellac finish applied by pad using a museum standard technique on the original patina. It measures cm 78 high, 47.5 x 95 wide, 95x95 open top. Elegant and luminous piece of furniture with "clean" and minimalist lines, perfectly matched to modern high-end in a prestigious and refined ensemble.
