Description: Wonderful and refined oil painting on canvas, signed and dated E. Fenzl 1906. Originating from Trieste and representing a characteristic example of late nineteenth-century realistic painting, this painting has clear references to the classic masterpieces of the Renaissance, such as Titian's famous "Venus". The composition focuses on a nude female figure, lying on a soft bed of white fur, wrapped in an intense red drape that creates a striking contrast with the verdant landscape in the background.
The technical quality of the painter is evident in the accurate rendering of the complexion, treated with a realistic delicacy that emphasizes the artist's ability to represent the human figure with soft nuances and tonal transitions. The chromatic intensity of the red drape standing out against the natural green further emphasizes the model's body, highlighting her luminous and smooth skin.
The frame, of nineteenth-century manufacture, dates back further than of the painting itself and enriches the work with a touch of historical elegance. The painting is signed in the lower left corner and bears the date of creation "1906".
