Antique cast iron fireback dated 1665.

Splendid cast iron fireback, richly decorated. The central scene depicts Poseidon on a shell-shaped chariot pulled by four sea horses, and two figures on the sides with musical instruments. The scene is adorned with cherubs holding festoons with flowers and fruit. Below, the date "1665" and initials "HH - S". MEASUREMENTS: W 81 - H 114 - D 2
