Isidoro Bianchi (Campione, 1581-1662).
Oil on canvas, approx. 60×90 cm.
The oval of the painting depicts the generative myth of the Trojan War, in which Paris favors Aphrodite over the other goddesses.
The elegant articulation of the small scene by I. Bianchi, a painter trained with Morazzone and working in Piedmont and Lombardy, is enclosed in a very fine floral wreath on a dark background, where the bright colors of the flowers stand out in contrast, with a connection between the red of Paris' mantle and the flower corollas. The author of the still life, not yet specified, shows affinities with the work of P. F. Cittadini.
The painting is accompanied by the attribution study of Professor Mina Gregori.
