The painting is dated 1911 and signed at the bottom left ALF Bachmann,
a German painter of animated landscape paintings, seascape paintings and orientalist.
Alfred August Felix Bachmann (1863-1956) was born in Dirschau (Danzig), studied at the School of Fine Arts in Königsberg
in old East Prussia. From 1891 he moved to Munich, traveled a lot
and painted mainly landscapes and seascapes with the subject of Iceland
Normandy, the coast of Portugal, Ténériffe, Venice, Istanbul and the Bosphorus.
The work has a beautiful original gilded frame from the 19th century, contemporary with the work.
The antique frame and canvas have been professionally and carefully cleaned and restored.
