Rare and important large Urbino plaque depicting a scene with the Holy Family welcoming a group of singing angels and a palm tree in the background, an evangelical symbol of martyrdom.
This is a polychrome ceramic work of rare dimensions from the Patanazzi workshop, active in Urbino between 1580 and 1620.
The plaque is in excellent condition, with no visible cracks or breaks, and has probably undergone ancient restorations.
It is mounted on a beautiful 17th-century Roman frame, gilded and finely carved.
The measurements of the plaque are approximately 50cm H x 38cm; those including the frame are 58cm H x 48cm.
A certificate is included with the sale.
