Oil on canvas depicting an unusual representation of the goddess of fortune, personified by a long-haired woman astride a globe, covering her eyes with one hand as if to blindfold herself, while with the other she holds behind her a dangling pearl necklace. Around her is a procession of graceful cherubs following her, one blindfolded, and all holding something in their hands, ears of wheat, acanthus leaves, and the one in front holds a serpentine animal.
The painting is in its original canvas and has probably never been restored or cleaned.
It may have been executed by a painter of the Roman school between the late 17th and early 18th centuries. The painting is very particular and deserves a more in-depth study from an iconological point of view, for the numerous symbolisms it proposes.
The Salvator Rosa frame on which it is mounted is gilded and dates back to the 18th century.
