Refined papier-mâché pocket cigar case (14x7 cm; h.1) of German origin, rare for its perfect state of preservation: complete with its internal leather case decorated with rocaille motifs (often missing: photos no. 7 and 8) with bellows sides that allows its expansion. On the front, a hand-painted miniature: two beautiful undressed young women are spied on by two men in period clothing hidden among the trees. The back of the case is decorated in the same way as most mid-19th century cigar cases: it is written "Segars" in gold letters (photo no. 9: a German interpretation of English spelling).
