Dubost Michel (1879-1952) was born in Lyon where he studied at the School of Fine Arts and in 1920 he became a professor of floral painting. From 1923 to 1933 he was a textile designer at the Ducharne company.
Then in 1933 he founded a textile design school in Paris. He exhibited at the Salon Des Artistes in Paris between 1935 and 1936.
In 1935 he exhibited at the "Salon Des Tuileries" and later in Paris at the "Salon Des Artstes Indépendants".
This is an antique painting from the Bisgart Collection of twentieth-century Art Déco painters.
Both the painting and the frame have been restored professionally.
The work is a beautiful painting, hand-painted in the early 1900s.
