Tesson Louis (1820-1870) was born in Calais and was a student of Alexandre Gabriel Decamps.
He began exhibiting his works at the "Salon Des Artistes Français" in Paris from 1841 to 1867.
His works feature landscapes of Normandy and Provence, but especially landscapes of the Maghreb.
Many works of art by this artist are preserved in various French museums in Calais, Gueret, Mulhouse.
The antique painting has a beautiful carved and gilded wooden frame, original and contemporary to the work.
The frame and the antique panel have been professionally cleaned and restored.
