Pair of gilded sheet metal friezes "cornucopias" - Louis Philippe.
Splendid pair of ornaments, decorations, friezes in gilded sheet metal depicting cornucopias from which ears of wheat emerge.
Considered an emblem of autumnal iconography, the "Cornucopia" is a name that derives from the union of the Latin terms "cornu", "horn", and "copia", "abundance": this horn of plenty, not surprisingly, is depicted as a large cone overflowing with fruit, flowers, gold coins, or ears of wheat.
Elements of great effect, finely embossed, enriched with foliage motifs and bunches of grapes.
Good state of conservation, beautiful dimensions, ideal for furnishing a wall, being placed above a door, or being mounted as light points.
Period: Louis Philippe
