Description:
Precious ceramic raised cake stand of exquisite English manufacture, dating back to the mid-19th century (precisely between 1851 and 1861), made by the prestigious Charles Meigh manufactory.
The mark impressed under the base, accompanied by the registration number, attests to its authenticity and origin. Finely decorated with polychrome floral motifs, the raised cake stand demonstrates excellent artistic mastery and attention to detail. The gold profiles that adorn the edge, handles and base, enriched with bas-relief elements, add a further level of elegance and refinement.
It is not only a functional object for serving sweets or fruit, but an article of rare beauty, capable of embellishing any table or exhibition space.
The object has slight gold losses on the edge, a slight loss of enamel on some areas of the bas-relief and a thread on the edge.
