The painting captures the vibrant essence of nature through a bouquet of flowers painted with heavy, textured brushstrokes. At the center of the composition stands a vase whose shape blends with the surrounding context. The color palette is rich and lively, with shades of red, yellow, blue, and green, creating a bold contrast between the various flowers. The brushstrokes appear laden with paint, giving the painting a tangible texture and making the surface almost three-dimensional. The flowers, although not detailed realistically, emerge as bold splashes of color that blend into one another, creating an effect of movement and vitality.
Luciano Albertini was born in Cadidavid in 1910 and died in Verona in 1985. He attended the Cignaroli Academy and was a student of Antonio Nardi and Guido Trentini. He became involved in the Veronese artistic environment at a very young age. He met Angelo Dall' Oca Bianca, from whom he was influenced by divisionism, which can be seen in his early paintings. The painter Luciano Albertini began exhibiting at the age of twenty with a solo exhibition in Verona. He then moved to Rome for military service where, alongside his pictorial interest, he nurtured an attraction to theater and scenography. The Roman sojourn was an important stage in the painter's artistic development: he met Giacomo Balla and attended his studio for about ten years.
Luciano Albertini's interests, however, were mainly directed towards still lifes and landscapes, and especially towards en plein air painting. His research was aimed at obtaining a valid effect of the light-color relationship.
After the war, after a brief period in Milan, the Scaligerian painter returned to Verona. Here he had the opportunity to participate in numerous exhibitions, becoming the emerging figure in the city's artistic life. He subsequently traveled to Paris, Austria (where he met the painter Oscar Kokoschka), Switzerland and Sweden, where, in 1950, he set up his first solo exhibition abroad with about fifty works. During the sixties he exhibited in New York, Rome, Rimini, Rovereto, Milan, Naples and Venice.
The work measures 50 cm H, 40 cm L without frame and 64 cm H, 54 cm L with frame.
