It is the oldest watch company, founded in 1466 by watchmaker Hubertus Gallet when he moved to Geneva, Switzerland, and became a citizen. The name "The Gallet & Cie" (Gallet & Company) was officially registered in 1826 by Julien Gallet (1806-1849)[3], who also moved the headquarters from Geneva to La Chaux-de-Fonds, still in Switzerland.
