This particular little runner is actually a nomadic saddlebag: unstitched on the sides, it has changed its appearance and function.
In Italy, few have been able to appreciate saddlebags: for example, as newspaper holders. So I thought about unpicking some to obtain rugs to use: for example as a bed-end rug or anywhere else. However, the kilim-woven part is not always as beautiful as this: for the most part it is a simple plain-colored weave.
