Painting on wood, icon "St. George" - Early 1800s
Fascinating icon, oil on panel, depicting Saint George (writing at the top).
The painting in the lower part is missing, it was certainly placed on the ground for a long time and the humidity has risen, fortunately it is a background area simply painted in green. Even the frame, in the lower area, has lost part of the gilding.
The painting has a beautiful craquelure.
Measurements: cm. 49.3 X 40.5.
Period: first half of the 19th century.
