Francesco Sereni was born in Rome in 1979. He has dedicated himself to painting since childhood, a passion that would lead him to successfully attend art studies first in the historic art high school on Via Ripetta and then at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome, graduating with honors in set design.
An early pupil and elegant draftsman, he began working in the field of entertainment while still attending the Academy, establishing himself as a valuable collaborator and designer in various opera productions in the most important national theaters such as the Teatro dell'Opera in Rome, La Scala in Milan, the Verona Arena, and at the two main national televisions Rai and Mediaset.
Parallel to this important activity in the field of theatrical and television set design, he pursues his personal pictorial discourse in private, deepening the research on American realist painting and in particular studying the work of the first generation Hyperrealists, a genre of painting that he considers highly spectacular, and that he perceives as a bridge between his passions: painting, photography and cinema.
His pictorial language, however, tends to synthesize the real, preferring a tendentially monochromatic palette, sometimes desaturated, and resorting to perspective and visual effects that recall the futurist movement; a path that has its roots precisely in the search for synthesis that feeds the art of set design, where the sense of spectacle is often the result of a synthesis of reality.
In his paintings, he almost constantly seeks a dynamism aimed at amplifying the space, with the intention of transmitting to the viewer a feeling of involvement, combined with a passion for details of an exquisitely veristic nature.
