A unique object due to its proportions, we offer an important large pharmacy albarello, measuring a full 59cm x 29cm.
The vase was produced between the second half of the eighteenth century and the early nineteenth century in Albissola, by factories active during that period which received authorization from the Senate of Genoa to use the symbol of Genoa for their brands: The Lighthouse.
The vase is decorated with scenes from mythology and the classical world, also adorned with some cherub play, framing the central cartouche bearing the writing "Acqua Sicoria" (?). Above the cartouche is a noble coat of arms, which probably indicates the noble family who owned the pharmacy.
The vase is in excellent condition, considering its monumental size and fragility, note that there are no major breaks, which is truly remarkable. However, it shows numerous chips at the base and in the upper rim, probably due to subsequent collector placements. Nothing that cannot be fixed by a professional restorer.
The overall measurements are: 59cm x 29cm. Mouth diameter 24cm.
