The pair of sheets, in good condition, are framed by antique carved and gilded wooden frames. They show some studies executed in ink with several different subjects. Specifically, the first work represents, at the top, the study for a frieze in Renaissance style, under which are some studies probably referable to a family crest. At the bottom center there is a monogram “A.M.”.
The sheet is also worked on the back where some articulated elements of decoration are drawn in the style of Renaissance grotesques, in which, among the various subjects, also appear a sphinx, a female figure with helmet, mythological and fantasy animals. Also here, at the bottom, there is the monogram “A.M.”.
The other work shows several studies for helmets. These are rich in details such as feathers, decorations with mythological animals such as griffins, sphinxes and a faun, and the fight of two ancient warriors. At the bottom center there is a monogram “A.M.”
