Pleasant, cheerful colors for this small rug knotted by the Gashgai nomads in south-central Iran, with pleasant geometric designs scattered throughout the field: it was certainly not intended for export, but for their own use in nomadic tents.
The hand-spun wools were dyed with vegetable substances collected during their travels. It is very durable.
It measures cm. 154 x 110.
