Louis Philippe sofa, in walnut. The piece of furniture consists of a wavy band that connects the two lateral stanchions, which are also characterized by a sinuous shape ending with a curl at the top and resting on a shell-shaped foot at the bottom. The surface is richly decorated using the carving technique, with vegetal motifs that curl in a succession of curves and counter-curves to end in the central part of the band with a shell. In the upper part of the backrest, the motifs described above are repeated but in a more sober way. The sides of the sofa are paneled smooth, following the wavy line given by the front. Seat, armrests and backrest are finally padded and covered with an elegant white damask fabric on a red background. This piece of furniture, typical in shape and decoration, is embellished by the choice of rather generous sections for its construction. The beautiful quality of the carvings and the elegance of the accentuated soft lines highlight a sophisticated refinement.
