Important Florentine writing table from the center of the 16th century.

Splendid walnut writing table, a centerpiece of prestigious origin, as it was present at the Furniture Auction of Palazzo Strozzi Sacrati, Florence, April 19, 1989. The furniture is characterized by a beautiful solid walnut top, 3 cm thick, with a well-worn patina, the double drawer in the band with a striking central grotesque mask in high relief, the double baluster legs are carved with acanthus leaves and connected by crossbars on all sides and end with cube-shaped feet. Furthermore, the writing table is finely molded with multiple orders of carving on the drawers, on the entire rear band, and on the beautiful cubes that form the prestigious pilasters. A dog-tooth Greek key that follows the entire perimeter completes the decoration of the band in the lower part.
