Interesting example of a kilim used as a tablecloth by the nomadic Gashgai people in central Iran. It is simply placed on the ground (like we would for a picnic). It is a highly sought-after piece by collectors: the wools are dyed with vegetable substances, including indigo (indigofera tinctoria). This is one of the pieces from my collection.
