Magnificent travel desk from the Napoleon III period, 19th century.
The desk is made of fine maple burl and is decorated with rosewood and bois de rose inlays.
It opens with a small door at the top, which can be locked. Various internal compartments containing 1 original crystal inkwell.
The small open door allows the larger lower door to open onto a leather surface, adorned with gold motifs.
The upper part with a tongue also functions as a flap that folds back to reveal an internal document compartment.
Inside there is a nib, a small booklet, and a paper knife.

Excellent condition after the restoration of the old ruined velvet, replaced by leather decorated with golden motifs.
