Rare 17th-century armchair that can be transformed into a prie-dieu (kneeling stool), featuring an ingenious rotation mechanism. In practically intact condition, upholstery covered in elegant red velvet. A fascinating piece made of sturdy solid oak wood with a warm original patina. Height: 82-95 cm, width: 58 cm, depth: 60 cm. Restored and consolidated with a conservative approach to museum standards, finished with shellac applied with a pad over the original patina, resulting in a pleasant matte or semi-gloss effect, suitable for antique furniture.
