French Art Nouveau vase by Daum Nancy depicting a winter landscape engraved and enameled with barren woodland trees and light snow on the ground, on an amber background, signed on the base "Daum Nancy". Daum was a factory based in Nancy, France, founded in 1878 by Jean Daum (1825-1885).
His two sons Auguste and Antonin oversaw the growth of his business during the flourishing Art Nouveau period.
Starting in 1890, the brothers began experimenting with art glass and continued into the early 20th century. They presented their glass cameos at the Chicago World's Fair in 1893. This piece probably dates from around 1900 and is in excellent overall condition, with minimal imperfections, light dirt and slight wear expected from age and use.
