Walnut chest with a front divided into two burr walnut panels with rich grains. These are divided in the centre by the coat of arms of the community of Rivolta D'Adda (a town in the lower Bergamo area), surmounted by two moustached masks and held at the sides by winged sirens. At the corners, caryatids emerge from acanthus leaves, all delimited at the top by an architectural frame with brackets and, at the bottom, by a typical 'bacceliera' (decorative molding). Ferine feet. The only defect is that the eyelets have been replaced with hinges, fortunately not recessed into the wood.
The use of burr walnut and the airy and well-distributed carving date this Bergamo chest with caryatids to the first quarter of the 17th century.
