Elegant and refined walnut dressing table with a walnut burr veneered band underneath the top. Supported by pairs of turned uprights and shelf-shaped legs joined by a turned crossbar. The top of the cabinet, made of a single plank, has a lowered tray in the center, useful for storing objects and makeup. The cabinet then has a small upper section where two side-by-side drawers are located, above which is a movable oval mirror with a walnut burr frame and a dense order of minute carved dentils. Noteworthy is the support of the mirror, which appears to be made of two overturned and joined cornucopias made with different high-quality carvings.
The cabinet is also finished on the back, is in excellent condition and original in all its parts. The upper part in its forms still denotes a late empire style, but the carved frame and the structure of the table reflect a more updated taste typical of the second quarter of the 1800s.
