Description:
Gilt bronze mercury pendulum clock, the case of French origin, richly decorated with chiselling of exceptional quality and with classic Empire decorations, represents the allegory (Flora) dressed in a mantle that leaves her left shoulder uncovered from which flowers sprout, on her head a shiny band that ties her hair, on her right hand she holds a staff with the vine twisted around it while on her left she holds a drapery of flowers, the plays of light and dark of the gilding are excellent and create movement to the sculpture. The movement, signed "MARTINA/HORLOGER DU ROI A TURIN" on the enamelled dial (Carlo Martina Watchmaker of the King in Turin from 1816) has wire suspension, strikes the hours and half hours, the sound of the bell is very beautiful, the hands are Breguet type, the winding lasts two weeks. ERA: First two decades of the 19th century EMPIRE STYLE EXCELLENT/PERFECT CONDITIONS, the conservation of the gilding is exceptional, the working mechanism has been completely overhauled, small restoration work on the enamel of the dial near the winding of the chime and hours.
