Oil painting on panel depicting a view of Castelvecchio by Mario Paolo Pajetta, dated 1929 and signed in the lower left corner.
Mario Paolo Pajetta: Genoa 1890 – Verona 1977.
Coming from a family of painters where he received primary artistic training, Mario Paolo Pajetta moved to Venice after grammar school where he was a student of Luigi Nono.
During the First World War, the painter moved first to Turin and then to Milan, and despite offers from Paris, he preferred the tranquility of Verona. A skilled draftsman, also active as an illustrator, although his most significant production is revealed in the field of landscape painting.
In 1940 he participated with a self-portrait at the Venice Biennale. A painter with a strong character, we often find his paintings signed M.P Pajeta with a single "t" to distinguish himself from the rest of the family of painters.
The painting measures 32 x 20 cm without frame.
