SOLD This marvelous "Battle Scene", oil on canvas with dimensions of 80 x 85 cm without frame and 90 x 95 cm with contemporary frame, depicts the Christian and Turkish cavalries clashing in front of fortifications with high, round towers, briefly outlined in the background on the left, certainly the object of their contention. The canvas reveals a detailed and intact figurative definition of the numerous combatants taking part in the clashes. From the current reading, we can deduce that we are faced with a valid specialist in the Venetian area of this iconographic genre, but still in the course of his first evolution. An impression derived from the author's desire to excessively enrich the scenes with characters, of which only some are well characterized, such as the two leaders facing each other in the center, and on the right side the standard-bearer waving the large banner, in the scene with a white horse knocked down in the foreground; or like the foot soldiers facing each other in the center, and various standard-bearers with long poles proceeding from right to center, in the one with a guardsman who, framed from behind, emerges in the foreground on the left. The paintings and art objects published here are my exclusive property and as a result are always available to be viewed in person, by appointment, in my exhibition venues located in Sanremo and Brescia. The work, like every object of ours, is sold accompanied by a FIMA photographic certificate of authenticity and lawful provenance; this document identifies the object, adding value to the article.
