This small porcelain Tureen with presentation dish features a very fine floral decoration with light blue colored bands and gilded profile decorations. The artist's attention seems to focus on the floral motifs; each composition is unique, formed by multiple combinations of finely reproduced flowers. The whole is elegantly divided by thin strips of light blue color, decorated with light brush strokes that liven up the surface. Delicate and executed with extreme skill are the decorative motifs and gold-colored profiles that complete the decoration.
This porcelain is to be identified as an Old Paris or Vieux Paris, with this term are called porcelains made by skilled Parisian artisans from the mid-eighteenth century to the end of the nineteenth. All the pieces have in common the extreme elegance and fineness of decoration that makes them a highly sought-after collector's item.
