Marble and Bronze Inkwell by Jean-Marie Pigalle
Period : 19th century
Inkwell with a large base in serpentine green marble topped by two cup-shaped vases with lids and leonine handles acting as inkwells. In the center is a statue of Mercury with the author's signature engraved. The bronzes are gilded and feature some parts worked with a burin.
