A work of particular charm and conception, rich in ideas due to the suggestive adoption of tones linked to Middle European art, but above all for a mysterious and, at times, disturbing subject: it is in fact evident that the young woman from behind (Juliette, who seems to cover her face) is not the figure that appears in the mirror, which rather represents a dreamlike vision, evidently linked to themes consistent with symbolist painting.
The beautiful floral theme in Matissian taste on the blouse in the foreground gives the work balance and aesthetic completion, enriching with a few touches of red a palette deliberately kept in the warm tones of the typical "Buccian" greens and blues.
