Important neoclassical living room  Translated
Description:
Important neoclassical living room composed of: Six chairs, A pair of armchairs, A chaise lounge. Six neoclassical lacquered and gilded gondola chairs. Group of six gondola chairs in walnut, in original ivory lacquer with carved wooden floral decorations on the backrest and rosettes on the four sides of the seats. The front legs end with exquisitely crafted zoomorphic feet, note the refined detail behind the rear leg of each chair. The front legs are saber-shaped and the chairs are outlined with gilded carvings that give an effect of depth and lightness. Some minor restoration. Northern Italy, probably Lombardy late 17th century - early 19th century. A pair of neoclassical lacquered and gilded armchairs. A pair of very elegant gondola armchairs "en suite" with the chairs, with the same characteristics, therefore, are in ivory lacquered walnut, carved and highlighted in gold, closed on the sides by the fabric, a typical model of the period from the late 18th century - early 19th century, with rosettes at the corners of the seats and with the same carvings and floral and leafy applications on the bands of the backrests. The armchairs have terminal elements of the armrests, gilded lion heads with open mouths, recalling the zoomorphic feet, which have the same particular detail as the chairs. The gold and lacquer are in original patina. Some small conservative and integrative restoration has been done. Northern Italy, probably Lombardy, late 18th century-early 19th century. Neoclassical lacquered and gilded center chaise lounge. Very refined center chaise lounge "en suite" with the six chairs and the pair of armchairs, in walnut and ivory lacquer, crossed on the front, on the sides and on the back, by delightful embossed friezes of flowers and twigs with leaves. The chaise lounge is all crossed by carvings and gilded profiles in pure gold leaf that define the sinuous lines, creating an effect of depth and further lightness. The details of the lacquered zoomorphic feet resting on gilded spheres are quite extraordinary, surrounded by tufts of hair, also gilded and moved in trompe l'oeil, as happens in the inner part of the paw. Perfect balance between strength and delicacy of the whole. Some restoration and integration. Northern Italy, probably Lombardy, late 18th century-early 19th century. 197cm x 76cm x H.90cm  Translated
