JESUS CHRIST CRUCIFIED

In the painting, on a completely black background, appears:
Jesus Christ crucified is presented with closed eyes, the head crowned with thorns leaning forward, smooth hair covering much of his face, and nailed feet.
The arms draw a subtle curve, rather than forming a triangle. The white loincloth serves to emphasize the nudity of the body.
The dark background recalls the darkness that descends upon the earth from the sixth hour to the ninth hour of Good Friday, but it is also a way to isolate the crucified Christ and transform him into a universal image.
The painting features an inscription placed on the upper termination of the upright of Jesus' cross, called titulus crucis, which reads: INRI "IESUS NAZARAENUS REX IUDAEROUM"
Translated into Italian:
"Jesus the Nazarene, the King of the Jews"
