Important and imposing pair of antique corner cabinets datable between the late 17th and early 18th centuries, an extraordinary masterpiece of high Venetian cabinetmaking entirely in lacquered, gilded and carved wood. They both come from an important eighteenth-century Venetian residence and are enlivened by a delightful pictorial decoration that envelops them from top to bottom. In fact, there are vegetal and geometric motifs skillfully intertwined to create an absolutely pleasant and capricious ensemble, charming but never tiring. The taste fits perfectly into the most flourishing Venetian pictorial tradition, where soft colors, such as the aquamarine background, overlap with graceful patterns, already precursors of the more lively season of the Venetian Rococo of the mid-century. Very interesting is the successful two-tone alternation between the aquamarine and the gilding of the molded frames. A large curved central door conceals the interior of the two corner cabinets punctuated by the presence of five shelves. Dimensions: Height 250 cm Diagonal footprint depth 57 cm Good state of conservation, normal signs of wear and tear, especially as regards the lacquering and gilding. We point out that a piece of the back of one of the two corner cabinets is not original and was added at another time. Any returns are accepted within 14 days from the day of delivery. The object is available in our exhibition space in Badia Polesine, in the province of Rovigo, and it is possible to see it in person by appointment.
