Carpet woven by nomads in south-central Iran and known as GABBEH. It was mainly used inside nomad tents, therefore woven by the women of the tribe for their family use. They were discovered by curious travelers and brought to the West: now they are famous and a collector's item. This is part of my private collection, now for sale. Hung vertically, it is a tapestry with modern taste.
It measures cm. 155 x 117 - It represents the tree of life with the (stylized) fruits of the pomegranate, a symbol of abundance. The red background is nuanced because the wools were dyed with vegetable substances (as usual for nomads).
The price is attractive because I would like to close the business.
