Old Iranian GABBEH carpet - nr. 1362 -

Old Persian carpet, part of my private collection of GABBEH: carpets knotted by nomads in central-southern Iran for internal use in their tents, but now become famous all over the world. This one has the classic checkered design with stylized images of dogs, birds and everything that is part of nomadic life. It is a very robust, lively carpet, with a "modern" or "naive" taste in its immediacy. It measures cm. 171 x 106.
