✨ Entrance set... The lot consists of two stools, a console table, and a matching mirror in the style of Pier Luigi Colli with a gilded wrought iron structure and sage-colored upholstered seats. ✨The Colli company✨ The Colli company is known today mainly for its flourishing production of the 1900s, but it has much older origins. Its founding year is in fact 1831, by Giuseppe Martinotti. It was born from the merger of two companies in 1926: La Colli MIRAM and Martinotti; the first specializing in embroidery and handmade carpets, curtains and cushions while the second in eclectic furniture and the newly emerging Liberty style. This created a workshop capable of directly offering every piece of furniture. In addition to providing refined furnishings for the Savoy court and the new bourgeoisie, the company also participates successfully in major international exhibitions. ✨Style✨ The Colli style is characterized by a meticulous and artisanal workmanship of the furniture surfaces: wood and metal are in fact treated with minute geometric carvings in the legs, armrests, drawers and doors as well as with gadrooning, engravings and fluting. Each particularly successful piece of furniture was offered to other customers, always with small modifications. Particularly appreciated by the public were the wrought iron and gilded furniture with which consoles, chairs, bedside tables and mirrors were made. The surface of the iron was finely decorated with carvings and arabesques. The gold of the structure was often contrasted with brightly colored fabrics such as red or green to highlight each other. The eclectic furniture in the style showed hints of Art Nouveau and modern geometries. The result was of strong decorative impact. The most important designer, and for whom the company is remembered, is Pier Luigi Colli.
