ARNALDO POMODORO, sculpture "STELE", signed in silver-plated bronze, 1977

Silver-plated bronze sculpture by the well-known Italian artist Arnaldo Pomodoro (1926 Montefeltro - ) entitled "Stele", a work created for ASSIDER I.I.S.I CONGRESS, Rome, October 1977 and produced in the historic Lombard factories of the Stefano Johnson srl artistic foundry. Dimensions including the base: Height 17.8 cm Width 7 cm Depth 2.5 cm Dimensions without the base: Height 13 cm Width 7 cm Depth 2.5 cm On the long side of the base (and clearly visible in the photo) is the artist's engraved signature, while on the short side we find the edition number 352/400. On the other long side we also find engraved "ASSIDER I.I.S.I. CONGRESS Rome October 1977". The acronyms "ASSIDER" and "I.I.S.I." stand for ASSOCIAZIONE INDUSTRIE SIDERURGICHE ITALIANE (Association of Italian Iron and Steel Industries) and INTERNATIONAL IRON & STEEL INSTITUTE, respectively. The work is cataloged in the Pomodoro Foundation archive with this reference: M/77/6. Regarding the state of conservation, we highlight some scratches on the metal base, while the upper part, which we more properly define as a sculpture, is in good condition (detailed photos sent on request).
