The Le Corbusier LC4 Chaise Longue is probably the most famous armchair in the history of design.
Born in 1928 in the studios of the Swiss-born and later naturalized French designer Charles-Édouard Jeanneret-Gris, who chose to be called by a diminutive, Le Corbusier, it would later become famous thanks to the Italian company Cassina, who began collaborating with the great masters of the internationally renowned designer in 1965.
The armchair was born from the inspiration and union of three design artists, Le Corbusier, who made use of the collaboration of Pierre Janneret together with Charlotte Perriand.
The basic idea was to conceive a piece of furniture that would facilitate domestic comfort, where each person could rest, even without closing their eyes, but relaxing their head, shoulders, back and legs at the same time.
Over the years it will become a true ICON of design.
