Rare and unusual 15th-16th century iron tool with a bronze lion's head on the end.
Probably a tool for everyday use for butcher's cutting or other special purposes.
Along the blade there is a coat of arms with scissors, probably indicating the workshop or the art that produced it.
For example, the coat of arms of the Blacksmiths' Guild of Florence is very similar. (see photo)
Furthermore, it is possible that other tools or additional blades were applied from the pair of holes present, 2 vertical and 2 horizontal.
The terminal with a bronze lion's head is beautiful, which also brings us back to a Florentine origin.
We enclose a certificate of authenticity with the sale.
