This splendid work can be attributed to the prestigious Parisian workshop of Jean-Marc Nattier, which produced a large number of splendid female portraits in the Versailles of King Louis XV, of whom he became the court portraitist.
The painting reflects all the characteristics of his painting that immortalized all the most beautiful ladies of Versailles on his canvases.
In this magnificent painting, the young lady is depicted with a long sword in one hand and a lit torch in the other, a hint of armor on her shoulder and a vigorous lion at her side.
It is "The Allegory of Strength" and is part of a series of allegories with female characters that were very successful and were reproduced by his workshop.
