This magnificent Louis XV chest of drawers, a splendid example of Neapolitan cabinetmaking, represents the highest expression of 18th-century Neapolitan production.
The surface, entirely veneered in veined rosewood, plays on the arrangement of the grains and the chiaroscuro contrast of the bois de rose inlays on a bois de violette background.
The decoration is typical of the Neapolitan eighteenth century, with the classic rosette that is repeated on the two drawers, on the sides and on the top, highlighted by elegant threads and borders in wood arranged 'end grain'.
Finally, the beautiful movement of the front and sides should be mentioned, with the wedge-shaped shoulders typical of the Neapolitan cabinetmakers of the period.
The furniture, complete with perfectly functioning period handles and locks, is in excellent condition and presented excellently.
Authentic from the 1700s in every part.
Certificate of authenticity guaranteeing the period.
