Vincenzo Pacelli

Beautiful and rare easel work by Vincenzo Pacelli. Uncle of the future Pope Pius XII, he was a predominantly ecclesiastical painter. Several altarpieces can be found in Lazio, from one of these, located in the church of S. Ermete in Acquapendente, our painting derives. In fact, in the scene, from 1895, depicting the "Conversion of S. Ermete", you can notice a vase with identical decorations and above all the model depicting the wife of the legionary Ermete, is the same model used in our painting and wears the same earrings.
