Small antique "mafrash" Shahsavan of Caucasian origin - northern Iran. The "mafrash" was the chest-container woven by the Shahsavan nomads, used in their migrations. It consists of two long rectangular sides and two squares on the ends; the bottom is usually a simple loom fabric with stripes. This is one of the long sides. In my collection I have complete and perfectly preserved "mafrash".
We can use them as trunks or chests (with appropriate wood mounting arrangements).
This is very pleasant placed on a bench or a pouf.
